Mr. James Andrew Vaughn, age 86 of Dickson, TN died on October 6, 2023 at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Smartt officiating. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
He was born on June 4, 1937 in Cadiz, Kentucky. He was a son of the late Herbert and Belvia Mae Williams Vaughn. Andrew had worked for the former Schrader Automotive Division in Dickson. He retired from the TN Department of Transportation after well over 20 years of service. Whether it was hunting, fishing, or just going for a long quiet walk, he loved being outdoors and nature. He was a member of the Hillview Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Sue Hicks Vaughn; his children, Deborah "Debbie" Vaughn Perales, Shelia Vaughn Harris, and James "Butch" Vaughn; his siblings, Junior Vaughn, Bobby Vaughn, Billy Vaughn, Peggy McCord, and Emma Jean Qualls.
Mr. Vaughn is survived by his grandchildren, Amanda Perales Nesbitt (Anthony) of Dickson, TN, Mat Perales (Cassie) of Dickson, TN, Summar England (William) of White Bluff, TN, Tonya Harris of Charlotte, TN, and Dusten Vaughn of Dickson, TN; 14 great grandchildren; his siblings, Jimmy Vaughn (Roxanne) of Burns, TN, David Vaughn of White Bluff, TN, Wayne Vaughn (Patsy) of Dickson, TN, and Kay Pate (Hugh) of Dickson, TN.
