Gerald Duane Pendergrass, age 74 of Bon Aqua, TN died on November 4, 2023.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the Taylor Funeral Home. The visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be held in the Parker Fowlkes Cemetery.
Mr. Pendergrass was born on August 15, 1949 in Columbia, TN. He was a son of the late Paul Daulton Pendergrass and the late Mary Mildred Martin Pendergrass. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald “R.D.” Pendergrass.
After graduating from high school, Gerald was drafted into the U.S. Army. He spent his working career outside the home in the insurance industry, retiring as a data center processor for AIG, formerly known as American General and National Life.
Gerald enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hunting, farming or just piddling around with equipment. He was mechanically minded and could fix just about anything. He liked to play darts, dominos and listen to bluegrass music. He also enjoyed watching western movies, sometimes with his eyes closed. Gerald loved his family. He loved his grandchildren, their desire to do things with him helped to keep him going, he was always busy doing something. Gerald was a person that can’t be replaced, but he can be remembered, and he left numerous memories to fuel this life to keep on living.
Mr. Pendergrass is survived by his wife, Leanne LeCompte Pendergrass; his children, Michael Pendergrass (Lezlie), Michele Brecht (James), Nikki Adcox (Michael), Amey Weeks, Crystal Bates (Matt), and Casey Moore; his brother, Marty Pendergrass (Lisa); his sister, Faye Mangrum (Roy); 23 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
