James “Jimmie” Thomas Buchanan, age 82, of Dickson, TN, passed away Christmas morning at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.
Jimmie was born in Davidson County on May 17, 1941, to the late Herbert Lee and Pernita Buchanan. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union, Local 492 until the age of 57. He worked there with his father, brothers, and son-in-law. He was a God-fearing man with a large family that he loved beyond words. He loved Jesus most of all, with all his heart. He would be the first to tell you that he wouldn’t have made it one day without his wife of 63 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Robert Buchanan, Raymond Buchanan, and son-in-law; Elwyn Choate.
He is survived by his wife; Carole Buchanan, daughters; Scarlett Choate and Andrea Turner, sons; Greg “Buck” Buchanan (Cindy), J. Scott Buchanan (Melanie), grandchildren; Maranda Green (Joe), Isaiah Choate, Jennifer Sesler (Wes), Kara Jo Harrell, MacKenzie Buchanan, Gracie Buchanan, MaKayla Buchanan, great-grandchildren; Cooper Green, Emma Choate, Jaxson Sesler, Remington Wilkerson, Ryleigh Sesler, brothers; Paul Buchanan, Matthew Buchanan, sister; Imogene Leonard, and several nieces and nephews.
