Born in Van Buren County, Tennessee, Everette was the son of the late Freddy Monroe and Verda Hutchinson Dodson. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of New Spring Creek Church of Christ. He worked as a machinist in a machine shop and later retired from his job in security for St. Thomas Hospital. Everette was an avid fisherman and loved to spend time with friends fishing the waters of the Tennessee River.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Betty Jean Burton Dodson of Bon Aqua; his nephew, Robert Davis of North Carolina; and his adopted family, Danny and Alice Cochran of Lyles. He was preceded in death by his son, David Lee Dodson.
