Jerry Lee Mayberry, age 76, of Lyles, TN, passed from this life on January 4, 2024, at the VA Medical Center of Nashville. He was born on June 17, 1947 to the late Howard L. Mayberry and Jane E. Dixon in Dickson, Tennessee. Jerry made his transition on January 4, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, in Nashville, TN. He was also preceded in death by his son Rex (Catrina) Mayberry, sister Shirley Mayberry.

Jerry was a hardworking, family-oriented man who loved being with his family and his church. Jerry was a jack of all trades and was always willing to help anyone out. Jerry “BIG TIME” was one of the nicest people you could find. Jerry loved gardening, landscaping, watching football, especially TN Titans and watching westerns.

Jerry recognized a need for Christ at an early age and joined New Livingstone Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ronnie Mitchell. He later joined Worley Furnace Missionary Baptist Church of Dickson, TN where he served faithfully on the Usher Board as well as a Senior Advisor to many in the church.

Jerry was united in holy matrimony to Zelma Loretta Holt on June 10, 1965.  For 58 years, they made a home, raised their sons and made many fond memories. Jerry’s presence will be missed because he left a lasting impression with everyone he encountered.

Jerry was an active member of Rising Son Lodge #49 in Dickson, TN. He also served 2 years in the United States Army. When he returned home, he worked for Western Electric for several years. Jerry retired from Nissan of America after dedicating 17 years of faithful employment.

Jerry Lee Mayberry leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Zelma Loretta Mayberry; son, Keith Mayberry of Lyles, TN, Drazson (Aretha) Mayberry of Dickson, TN, Dearon (Patryce) Mayberry of Clarksville, TN, and Christopher Foster of Nashville, TN; loving sisters Ann Mayberry of Dickson, TN, Martha Ann (Walter) Vanleer of Wrigley, TN, and Sabrina (Marcus) Bagwell of Murfreesboro, TN; loving brother Hurley (Ann) Mayberry of Dickson, TN; aunts Stella Nichols of Nashville, TN, Ollie Sweat of Nashville, TN, Doris Tann of Lyles, TN, Barbara Nicks of Starkville, MS; uncle Richard (Barbara) Mayberry of Nashville, TN; loving grandchildren Ryan Johnson of Warren, OH, Parnell Andres Jr. of Dallas Texas, Jeffrey Johnson of Clarksville, TN, Michael Mayberry of Raliegh, NC, Chelsea Johnson of Hendersonville, TN, Daizha Parrish of Nashville, TN, Jazzmyn Mayberry of Dallas, TX, and Zaidan Mayberry of Madison, TN; and a host of loving great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
