Mrs. Barbara Ellen Shaw Brazzell, age 85, of Dickson, TN died suddenly January 11, 2024, at TriStar Horizon Medical Center.
She was born in Northampton, Massachusetts and was the daughter of the late Donald Joseph and Josephine Ann Postaliewicz Shaw. Mrs. Brazzell was the widow of the late Wilbert Brazzell. She was preceded in death by her children Danny Brazzell and Darrell Brazzell, her grandchildren, David Randolph, Derek Fowler and Micah Harrington, her brother Donald (Dean) Shaw.
Mrs. Brazzell was a graduate of Northampton High School in Northampton Massachusetts. She went on and received her B.S. in Education from Westfield State University. She continued her career as a schoolteacher for some 45 years. She was a teacher of the children, loving every moment and even teaching great- grandchildren until her death. Mrs. Brazzell loved traveling in the states and abroad. She loved sharing her love with her cats, Willie, Daisy, and Feral but especially Tbell who recently passed after spending 18 wonderful years with Mrs. Brazzell. A family memory of Barbara was always seeing her enjoying a good cup of coffee. She always loved family gatherings and once she learned how to play Left, right, center game family times got more exciting with the laughter and cheating she did while playing this with her family. Mrs. Brazzell was of the Catholic faith.
Mrs. Brazzell touched so many people's lives as she was always kind, thoughtful and funny and with her being able to speak several different languages you never knew what she was going to say. She loved her family with every piece of her heart, and she truly will be missed by all.
Barbara is survived by her children; Terry Brazzell of Hermitage, TN, Shawn Fowler (Trey) of Burns, TN, and Don Brazzell (Cheryl) of Dickson, TN, Special niece Pam Brazzell McReynolds (Ronnie) of Mayfield, Ky her grandchildren; Andrea Rayburn (Shane),Dylan Fowler (Megan), Dalton Fowler (Marissa), Shelby Gregory, Tina Carr, Jeremy Brazzell (Hope), Heather Kimbrough, Michelle Velez (Mike), Shane Harrington, Rachel Kelly (Justin), April Hutzell ( Zack) and Ashley Nelson, her 24 great grandchildren and her 1 great-great granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made directly to Taylor Funeral Home towards funeral expenses.
