Alton Gayle Westcott, age 82, of White Bluff, TN, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024, in the company of his family at the Alive Hospice center in Nashville, TN.
Gayle was born on April 10, 1941, to the late PL and Kathleen Westcott as one of thirteen siblings. In his early life, he grew up farming and enjoyed playing sports. In adulthood, Gayle married his loving wife, Linda Wren Westcott with whom he shared five children, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Gayle was a longstanding and devoted member of White Bluff Baptist Church. He loved serving the Lord, and he spent many years visiting and witnessing. His ultimate passion was the food pantry he ran for multiple decades, and he took great joy in helping the most disadvantaged in his community. In his final few years, he looked forward to visits with his sister, Linda, and throughout his life, Gayle loved being with each of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gayle is preceded in death by his wife, Linda, and his son, Anthony Wade Westcott.
Gayle is survived by many family members. This includes his children: Joe Westcott (Jamie), Amanda Corlew (Lee), Angela Boie (Chris), and Dwayne Westcott (Marie). He also leaves behind his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Hope Saxman (Grady), Joseph Westcott, Chase Westcott (Kaylin), Morgan Corlew-Strauss (Brent), Marion Burch (Remington), Faith Plunkett (Ross), Isaac Westcott, Maggie Corlew, Jorja Westcott, Milby Saxman, Hooper Plunkett, and Zane Westcott.
