Mrs. Sue Walker Smith, age 93, of McEwen, TN died peacefully at her home on January 21, 2024.
Mrs. Smith was born in Thomaston, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Richard and Lona Blount Walker. She was the widow of the late Walter T. Smith. She was preceded in death by a sister, Richie DeLoach of Nashville, TN
Mrs. Smith was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great- great grandmother. In the late 60’s and into the 70’s she and her family owned Smitty’s in McEwen where you could see her daily. She worked most of her life but would love to be remembered as an excellent homemaker which included making beautiful quilts, canning, and caring for her family. She was an excellent cook and will be remembered for lots of her dishes but especially her delicious homemade biscuits. Her greatest delight was cooking for her family and friends and being able to just share time and food with them all.
Mrs. Smith leaves a legacy of family behind, her seven children; Richard Smith of Burns, TN, Kim Smith of Bon Aqua, TN, Joe T. Smith and his wife Janna of McEwen, TN, Jackie Smith and his wife Cindy of Waverly, TN, Judy England and her husband Phil of Dickson, TN, Jeanie Smith of McEwen, TN and June Smith of McEwen, TN, her sister; Betty Turner of East Point, GA, her 13 grandchildren, Several great grandchildren and several great- great grandchildren.
