Chris was born in Shelby County, on November 27, 1975, to the late Mitchell “Bud” Ray Gillia and Patricia Churchill Gilla. Chris served in the United States Army and Tennessee Army National Guard. He had worked for several years as a correctional officer for Tennessee State Prisons. He was known to be stubborn and hard-headed but had a good soul. He would always go out of his way to help someone and tried his best to make everyone happy. He was a unique man and loved to play the guitar.
He is survived by his mother; Patricia Gillia of McEwen, TN, his fiancé; Melanie Fliss of McEwen, TN, his daughters; Leanna Star Gilla, Shaina Rae Gillia, Kristen Nicholle Gillia, Izabella Paige Boiter, all of Memphis, TN, brother; Jonah Gillia of Clarksville, TN, several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and his four-legged companion; Leilei.
