A celebration of life and service of remembrance will be conducted Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. from the First Baptist Church, 7th and Broadway, Nashville, TN. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until time of service. There will be a graveside service on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Dickson Union Cemetery. Place of rest in the Dickson Union Cemetery.

Those desiring, memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church, 108 7th Ave. South, Nashville, TN 37203.
Faye Dailey Coles died February 16, 2024 at her Nashville, TN home.

Faye was born in Dickson County, daughter of the late Harry Dailey and Geneva Burgess Dailey Lankford. After losing her dad at an early age her mom remarried to Howard Lankford, who Faye adored and called Dad. She was a graduate of Dickson High School, Class of 1959 where she excelled in basketball and made All-State Basketball. Among her many accolades she was crowned Miss Dickson.  She later attended Austin Peay and later worked in the banking world at First American National Bank.

She was a proud wife, mother, and grandmother.  Loving life and all the people she grew to know and love.  Faye had a presence about her. Her southern charm, her beauty was not just skin deep, but radiated from within, her kindness and compassion knew no bounds, her quick wit, and her ability to never meet a stranger. She was a social butterfly and the life of the party. Faye had a grace and elegance that captivated everyone she met.

Faye was an active resident of Nashville where she belonged to the Nashville Centennial Club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, 7th and Broad in Nashville where she was a member of the Encourager Sunday School Class.

Faye loved to play bridge with her friends.  She had a passion for traveling across the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean. One of her favorite trips was a trip traveling through the Panama Canal.

She loved her antiques and loved collecting all kinds of beautiful pieces. In her spare time she loved spending time arranging beautiful flowers, her favorite being the beautiful yellow rose.

In additon to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: John William Coles II.

Faye is survived by her husband of 62 years; William S.” Bill” Coles of Nashville, TN, her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Coles, her three grandchildren, Bradley Tanner Coles, Caroline Grace Coles, and Natalie Marie Coles, all of Nashville, TN.
