Claudia Mai Gowin Dixon, age 59 of Vanleer, TN died on March 18, 2024 at the Horizon Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the Taylor Funeral Home. The burial will follow in the Hutton Cemetery in White Bluff, TN. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
Claudia was born on July 17, 1964 in Nashville, TN. She was a daughter of the late Dan Gowin, Sr., and the late Evelyn B. Parker Gowin. She had a humorous outgoing personality. She liked to laugh and cut up with people. She saw that everybody was given a nickname. She enjoyed going out for a drive and hanging out at creeks. She loved her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jamie Gibbs; and her brother, James C. Gowin.
Claudia is survived by her children, James Bailey of White Bluff, TN, Mary Herity of Charlotte, TN, and Paul Herity of Vanleer, TN; her sister, Sherry Gail Young; her brothers, Dan S. Gowin, Jr., and William S. Gowin. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Meleah, Ryin, Xia, William, Skylar, Adley, Paul, Micheal; and several nieces and nephews.
