Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, August 2, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. On July 26, 2025, Gordon Jacob Edmond passed away peacefully, leaving behind a great legacy and a lifetime of love, service, and cherished memories. Known affectionately by many names — “Big G,” “Gordy,” “Poppy,” “Dad,” “Unc,” “Mr. G,” and Gordon.
— he touched countless lives with his warm spirit and generous heart.
Born June 7, 1956, in Minnesota to the late Muriel Holiday and Joel Edmond, Gordon grew up to be a man of integrity and purpose. A proud graduate of Bellevue High School in Nashville, TN, he went on to earn a master’s degree in special education from Liberty University.
Gordon’s professional life included successful roles in sales and marketing, chauffeuring with Mike’s Taxi and Limo services, but his greatest joy was working with children. For over ten years, he served as a dedicated long-term substitute teacher in the Dickson County School System, where his impact on students and staff alike was profound.
His love and commitment extended far beyond the classroom. Gordon served his community faithfully through his involvement in the Kinsman Redeemers and as Vice President of Wings Eagles. He was a steadfast presence in the Wednesday morning Men’s Devotion group — a gathering he rarely missed and deeply valued. at Christian Faith Center as usher, church van ministry and youth minister with his wife Pam was one of his great joys.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Floyd Henry Campbell.
He is survived by his devoted wife and forever “Jelly Bean,” Pam Adams Edmond; his children, Chris Holt (Ashley), Aijalen Edmond, and Aijalon Edmond; and his grandchildren, Bryson and Cason Holt. Brothers: Joel “Pootsie” Edmond, Sisters: Muriel Collins, Stacey Swain. Father-in-law Mack J. Adams, Supportive and loving sisters and brother -in-loves: David (Ernestine), Sabrina, Jacqueline (Jeff), Mitchell, Susie, Tony (Jennifer) and Belinda (Terrence), Gordon was lovingly known as “Poppy” to his extended grands: Harris, Brystol, Montgomery, Jhe’Dienne and Macie. A host of nieces and nephews.
Gordon’s life was one of service, love, and unwavering faith. He will be missed deeply, but the legacy he leaves behind lives on in all who had the honor of knowing him.
