Emily “Sister” Springer Huddleston – Age 67 of Dickson, Tennessee was born on September 8, 1950, and she went home to be with her loving savior on Saturday, February 10, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Riley and Georgia Evans Springer.
She professed her faith in Christ at an early age when she became a member of Worley Furnace Missionary Baptist Church. As a faithful member of Worley Furnace, she served wherever needed: choir, willing workers, fellowship hall and more.
Sister was educated in the Dickson County School system and was a class of 1969 graduate from Dickson County High School. She was employed at Red Cap for 20 years. Emily was one of the two sisters and proud co-owner of Sister’s Restaurant. She and her sister, Janet, opened the restaurant some 20 years ago, and it has become one of Dickson’s favorite hometown eateries. They come from a long line of great and excellent cooks; her late mother owned the former Georgia’s Restaurant in Dickson.
Family left to cherish her memories: Son, Jerome Springer; brother, Michael Springer; sister, Janet Grimes; 3 grandchildren, Dawnethia Springer, Devontae Springer, Tiana Huddleston, and uncle Larry Evans. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Emily’s son, Carlos Huddleston preceded her in death along with her brother, Riley W. Springer.
