Born in Dickson, Danny was the son of the late Jack and Oulanda Spicer Choate. He attended Burns Elementary and graduated from the former Dickson High School. After high school he was in military service with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era. He enlisted July 29, 1968 and served in Korea, HQ Battery, 1st Battalion, 17th Artillery, achieving the rank of Sp/5 before receiving an honorable discharge June 10, 1970. In civilian life, Danny worked for the Tennessee Department of Transportation, as a Bridge Inspector. He enjoyed restoring old cars and he loved dogs.
Survivors include his sisters, Pat Farrell, Donelson, TN and Sharon Corlew (Keith), Burns, TN; his brother, Jackie Choate (Karen), Burns, TN; nephew, Bryan Farrell, Donelson, TN; long-time companion, Jenny Pearson and her daughters, Annette and Heather; and his faithful canine companion, Molly.
