Born in Dickson, Rebecca was the daughter of Vaneta Wright Roberts (Lee) and the late Aubrey Roberts. She received her education in the Dickson County School System and worked at several jobs, but mainly as a machine operator for the former Red Kap Industries. Married to Jeff McElhiney, Rebecca loved the family she was born into, as well as the family she married into. Together, she and Jeff raised two fine sons. Even when she was not well herself, Rebecca was a blessing to the family as the primary care-giver for her mother-in-law, Gelena. She was a member of Jason Chapel Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff McElhiney, Dickson; sons, Justin Dewayne McElhiney and Blake Jeffrey McElhiney, both of Dickson; Mother, Vaneta Roberts Lee, Dickson; siblings, Saundra Herrin (Phil), Bowling Green, KY, Audrey Winfrey (Danny), White Bluff; Tony Roberts (Linda) and Renea Grant (Mike), all of Dickson; Tina Christy (Richard), Charlotte; and Ben Lee (Katie), Dickson. Preceded by father, Aubrey Roberts; step-father, Charles Lee; brother, Robby Ray Roberts; niece, Ashley Grant; father-in-law, Kenneth “Fuzzy” McElhiney, and mother-in-law, Gelena McElhiney.
