Born in Lawrence County, Jack was the son of the late Johnnie Thomas and Pearlie Mae Riddle Dodd. He was a graduate of Summertown High School, where he excelled in basketball. He later attended Martin Methodist College in Pulaski where he played basketball and baseball. Jack was retired as retail manager for the automotive department of Dickson Farmer’s Co-Op. His passion was watching his grandchildren excel in their athletic endeavors. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his son, Johnnie Neal Dodd, II, (Donna), Nashville; daughter, Jayna Brake (Raymond), Burlington, KY; sisters, Stella Dodd, Summertown, TN and Tennie Faye Nash (Julian), Nashville; grandchildren, Jessica Peterson (Daniel), Cary, NC, Tyler Brake, Burlington, KY, Austin Brake, Salt Lake City, UT, and Johnnie Neal Dodd, III, aka “Jake”, Nashville; one great-granddaughter, Hallie Brake, Nashville; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Crawford “Pete” Riddle and Leslie J. D. Dodd.
