John was born on January 9, 1921 in New Smyrna, Florida to loving and caring parents who laid the foundation for his life of righteous compassion.
John and his wife, Mildred resided in Dickson County since 1975. John was a Merchant Mariner during WW II, a railroad engineer on the Panama Railroad for 34 years, a Tennessee farmer and a man of great and unwavering service to others. He was faithful in his duties to God and country, lived life honestly, humbly and purposefully, with dignity, hope and charity. He inspired others to be and do good by his great example of standing for right and standing up for right. John was all these things and more, but most of all he was a great and loving father.
