Elizabeth “Liz” Lankford, age 87, of Dickson, TN died peacefully on December 1, 2022 under Hospice care in Magnolia Place in Waverly, TN.
Liz was born November 20, 1935 in Hickman County, TN and was the daughter of the late Wallace T. Hickman and Lillian Wherry Hickman. She worked for Life and Casualty Insurance, First American Bank, and Schrader Automotive for more than 20 years as a customer service representative.
She later went to work for Orgain Insurance and Bluegrass Apparel Club. Liz enjoyed sports, traveling, bowling, playing bridge with her Bridge Club, golfing, taking cruises and shopping. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dickson. Liz was an outgoing, fun-loving person. She was generous, thoughtful, and caring. She never met a stranger and had the gift of gab. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. Liz was a member of First Baptist Church of Dickson.
Liz was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Lankford, her loving parents and loving in-laws Jasper and Catherine Lankford.
She is survived by her daughter; Sherry Sensing Dover (Mike), sons; Kerry Wade Lankford (Renee), Wallace Ray Lankford, step-daughter; Penny Lankford, sister-in-law; Marianne Lankford, grandchildren; Emily Edwards (Chance), Ryan Lankford, John Wade Davis (Trina), Jeremy Jones (Arwen), Jorie Kersey (Jim), great-grandchildren; Jase Davis, Lakin Hoskins, Jack Jones, Beau Jones, Jones Kersey, best friend, “Poochie” Hodges.
