Mareena “Reena” Mahoney, age 29 of McEwen, TN died on August 18, 2024. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Donald Austin officiating. The interment will be held in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Saturday, August 24, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Mareena’s Funeral Expenses.
Mareena was born December 21, 1994, in West Palm Beach, Florida. She grew up spending time outdoors and around creeks. She quickly developed a hobby of collecting fossils and rocks in creeks. She had an artistic talent that began to blossom during her high school years. She was honored by having a piece of her artwork exhibited at the Dickson County Mayor’s Office in Charlotte, TN. She had an inward love for sparkle and bling, words that could also be used to describe her outward personality and an extremely bright light that lit up the room. She was a brave, thrill-seeking, strong-minded, and strong-willed lady with a caring and loving heart for others. The sweetest and most beautiful soul. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, and the opportunity to have worked with the robotic production line at Nissan. Her greatest love was for her daughter “Rae-Rae”, her mama, and her sister.
Mareena is survived by her daughter, Raelynn Grace Rainey; her mother, RJ Blackstone; her sister, Ashlyn Blackstone (Brady Young); her aunts, Ivy Marie Hall (Sam), Michele Ann Maravas (Pete), and Terry Lee Peters (Craig); and Raelynn’s father, Dustin Rainey; as well as numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, William James Mahoney; her maternal grandparents, Beverly Jenice Kerns and Denny Sherman Kerns, Sr. and paternal grandparents, Norman Mahoney and Mary Lou Mahoney.
