A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Jane Jones Cemetery in Fairview. Visitation with the family will take place on Tuesday, October 15, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Mr. Glenn M. Sylvis, age 75 of Fairview, passed away on October 11, 2024, in his home, surrounded by family. He was born in Dickson, TN, on May 19, 1949. He worked for over 60 years in the grocery industry in the Dickson County area, with a servant’s heart focused on taking care of people and providing excellent customer service. He had a big heart, giving secretly to many in need in his community and organizations such as St. Jude’s, Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home, Shriners, and more. He was an avid sports fan and loved spending time on the front porch birdwatching with his beloved dogs, Lulu and Bell-Bell.
Survivors include his daughters: Rhonda Moore (Bill) of Dickson and Shawna Conner (Ronnie) of Bon Aqua; his siblings: Judy Edney, Patricia Rogers, and Ronald Rogers, all of Dickson; his grandchildren: Chandler Moore, Justin Donmoyer (Kiara), Zachary Lampley (Emma), William Donmoyer, and Mitchel Conner (Ruthann); his great-grandchildren: Blaine Donmoyer and Jameson Conner; and his aunt: Shirley Sylvis of Dickson.
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife: Pamela Mangrum; his mother: Dorothy Rogers; and his siblings: Louanne Etheridge, Larry Stanley, and Barry Stanley.
