A funeral service will take place on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will take place on Sunday, November 10, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 12 noon until the time of service. Mr. Charles Travis “Buddy” Booker, age 89, of Lyles, passed from this life on November 6, 2024. He was born on February 19, 1935, in Hickman County to the late John T Booker and Hallie Potts Booker Tidwell. Mr. Booker served his country bravely in the United States Air Force. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner.
He was preceded in death by his father: John T Booker; his mother: Hallie Potts Booker Tidwell; his step-father: Herbert “Hub” Tidwell; his ex-wife: Jessie Vaughn Booker; his son-in-law: Barry Rochelle; his sister: Betty Sue Henson; and his great-grandchild: Cooper Parker.
Survivors include his children: Tim Booker (Lori) and Brian Keith Booker (Sarah) both of Bon Aqua, and Tanya Rochelle of Centerville; his brothers: John Booker of Bellevue and Wayne Tidwell of Lyles; his sisters: Melba McFarlin of Dickson and Carol Winters of Lyles; his grandchildren: Alesha Parker, Paige Dedman (Corey), Kyle Rochelle (Jessica), Kaitlyn Harris (John), Desirea Beard (Tommy), and Brittany Hartman; his greatgrandchildren: Addy, Amous, Keegan, Levi, Gage, Adaleigh, Elliana, Kaydence, Liam, and Hadlli.
