Mr. Stephens, known to many as Bob, was born February 28, 1950 in Dickson, TN. He was a son of the late Arthur Mack Stephens, Sr. and the late Frances Bates Stephens. Bob completed his undergraduate studies at APSU and received his master’s in psychology from MTSU. He was employed by the State of Tennessee Department of Corrections for 30 years. Upon retirement, he finished his career with Youth Villages as a suicide prevention counselor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Billy James Stephens, as well as his brothers, Allen Mitchell Stephens, and Arthur Mack Stephens, Jr.
Bob is survived by his wife of 39 ½ years, Cindy Schmittou Stephens of Dickson, TN; his sons, Bobby Joe Stephens, Jr. of Dickson, TN, Billy James Stephens, Jr. (Melissa) of Dickson, TN, and John Andrew Stephens (Ashley) of Clarksville, TN; his sister, Martha Ann Nelson; 9 grandchildren.
